KURT ELDER, certified personal trainer, NASM

It all started when…

Believe it or not, I was the 126lb weakling that couldn’t make the football team. The kid who spent most of the time on the bench, unless someone got hurt or they needed someone for special teams.

I like every kid, loved to read comic books and wanted to have the body, the popularity and the grit of those characters whose adventures I followed in the magazines. I’m a bit embarrassed to admit it, but remember the old, “Don’t get sand kicked your face again”, I was one of those guys who ordered the Charles Atlas workout routine from the back of one those comics I read. All in my quest to fit in.

Fast forward to college, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts from California State Polytechnic University in Behavioral Science and my Masters Degree from UCLA in Social Welfare, still in pursuit of the idea of being big enough or strong enough, I took up Powerlifting. Actually I did quite well, winning several state championships and setting a few records along the way. It was during this journey I became very aware that being big or strong was not what being a warrior or fit was about. I had sacrificed a great deal of flexibility, conditioning, and quality of life all in the pursuit of health. That’s when I turned my full focus to the Health and Fitness Industry. I have been involved in the health and fitness industry since 1985, certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Here are some videos to give you an idea of who i am.
